John Papazisis (FIPA)
Founder & Senior Business Advisor
John founded Yarra Tax in 1993 as a sole practitioner servicing the needs of individuals, businesses and community clubs in Australia. He has extensive experience in the gaming industry with community clubs and poker machine venues.
He attended a study tour in Las Vegas Nevada with the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) on gaming and hospitality. He was fortunate to be instructed by Arty Nathan, who was at one time Steve Wynn's right-hand man of the famous Wynn hotels. You might remember hotels such as the Bellagio, The Mirage, Treasurer Island, Encore, Frontier and the Golden Nugget - All Wynn hotel developments at one point in time.
John has a unique skill set immersed in taxation and business management. John loves looking at and analysing the numbers behind the numbers.
In recognition of his achievements in the gaming and hospitality industry, John was awarded president of the year in 2014 at the Sofitel Hotel Melbourne by Community Clubs Victoria (CCV).
He is the holder of a bachelor's degree in Law (Honours First Class) a bachelor's degree in Economics and a holder of a Graduate Diploma in Business (Accountancy). He is a fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants. He is also registered as a tax agent with the Australian Tax Board.
